One of my most important side-projects is researching the life of 19th century virtuoso Giulio Regondi. The greatest guitarist and concertina player of his age, Regondi was a creative and instrumental genius who left a considerable legacy on both instruments. My work includes journal articles, conference presentations and scholarly liner notes which Fanfare magazine has called "superb". 

Asian guitar music and Western music inspired by Asian concepts, sounds and materials is an important addition to classical guitar history in our time. My research on this subject includes commissioning new works and exploring the already rich existing repertoire inspired by East Asian music.
